Condie Training offers in-house and open course training and executive briefings on a range of governance and risk management subjects, as well as mentoring for the development of risk management staff.

Mark Butterworth has enjoyed a long career in the financial services industry and has specialised in risk management and corporate governance for over 25 years. As Managing Director of Condie Risk, Mark provides risk consulting, interim senior level risk management services and risk and insurance training programmes for all sectors of business and industry. Mark also leads on the Independent Board Effectiveness Reviews.

Mark is a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute and has an MBA in Management. Mark is a past Chairman of AIRMIC and past Chairman of The Institute of Risk Management. Mark is a past Non-Executive Director of Coastline Housing Ltd and a member of the IRM Nominations Committee.

 


John Ludlow

John Ludlow

John Ludlow has worked in the insurance industry for more than 40 years and has wide experience of managing both Underwriting and Risk Management functions. Having spent 12 years at Hiscox in a number of roles, John held the position of Head of Risk Management until becoming a Consultant in 2008. John is a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute.

John’s experience covers both the Lloyd’s and Company market. He chaired the Lloyd's Market Association Committee that designed and introduced the standard Terms of Business Agreements in preparation for the regulation of intermediaries and was a member of the LMA's Risk Management Committee. He also represented Hiscox on the ABI GIC Members' Forum for many years.

Steve Fowler

Steve Fowler has a Masters degree in Chemistry from the University of Oxford and a strong IT and Change Management background.  Steve was the Chief Executive of the Institute of Risk Management for over 10 years before becoming a risk management and governance consultant.

Steve is currently a Trustee and Non-Executive Director of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health and Co-Chairman of the Risk Management Standards Committee of the British Standards Institute. Steve also serves as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee for the University of West London.

Steve is a Fellow of the Institute of Risk Management, a Fellow of the Chartered Insurance Institute, a Chartered Member of IOSH and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
